Immigration
Immigration in today's society is quite a dilemma for the United states government. There are many opinions on the subject of immigration. Immigration is a topic that has a great affect to our society in different ways and they could either be good benefits or bad consequences.
We believe that immigrants should be allowed to come to the United States but under certain circumstances. For example they must have a significant motive to come here. Examples could be because they might be searching for better medical treatment, a better way of living and to have more freedom in a democratic country. Once the immigrants come here they must have a background check to ensure they are not a threat and also to verify their motive or motives. However, there are some immigrants who cannot always prove their reason for coming to the United States, so if I were elected President I would propose a new policy for these immigrants which is that they will be given a two month notice in order to give them the chance to have a stable living condition and to have started filling out their tax forms. If they are not able to give a good motive to have come here then they should be able to contribute to the United States so as to show that they won’t just be here to receive benefits but to actually work for whatever goal they had in coming here. In 2013, approximately 41.3 million immigrants lived in the United States so if they were all contributing in some way like paying taxes then they would be very beneficial to the country. Other ways that they could be beneficial and this ties in with the two month notice and it’s to work and in 2013, there were approximately 24.2 employed foreign workers and 30 percent of these workers were employed in fields like management, professional, and related occupations. Another 25 percent worked in service occupations and 17 percent in sales and office occupation. 15 percent of these workers were employed in production, transportation, and material moving occupations and 13 percent were employed in natural resources, construction, and maintenance occupations. Those that search for jobs and are employed could serve as a benefit to the services that citizens receive and they could contribute to help build an even better nation.
Immigration is a topic that has put the United States in a tough situation because there are some immigrants who would be able to contribute to the United States but some would just receive benefits. There are millions of immigrants living in the United States and if they all would contribute in some way like working or taxes then they would be allowed to stay but those that are just here to get benefits and take away from the United States then they would not be allowed to stay. If I were elected as President I would make sure to pass these policies and help those that need it and to make immigration more fair.
